Nighttime

You know, I am really tired. I don't really understand why the teachers jam pack us with homework before vacation. I don't really think it's fair. Anyways, I am going shopping for running clothes and sneakers on Saturday and Sunday it's EASTER!!! That means a basket (filled with candy) and maybe even going out to Brunch Buffet, which means eating a ton! One year they even had ice cream sundaes!(The one at the Nonantum)

I have nothing else to say.

Night Night!

So, I am painting my bathroom over vacation. What colors should I do. I am almost positive I am doing periwinkle, but I need another color to accompaniment it. Please leave comments! :)

Blizzards

Tonight was China Connections Night. Yes, I am happy it is over, but tonight went by too quickly and working on the project was tons of fun (especially with Valentine!). I wonder what we are going to do next in global studies??? Anyways, after late-ish night events at school (i.e. band concert, some sort of project night...) I tend to ask my parents to go to Dairy Queen. Luckily, they almost always take me. Tonight I went and I got a small Strawberry Cheesequake Blizzard. mmmmmmmm. Those are my favorite. Anyways, I saw Ellen there and her mom and I thought it was pretty cool that they got ice cream with a dog bone in it for their 3 dogs. :) I also saw Caleb, Jake, and Caleb's brother and their mom there. They were wild. It was funny. When my ice cream came out, my mom and I left. That's that. Nothing special.

Awesome job your projects guys!!!!!!!

Spring is Here! and Valentine owes us a pack of gum! but I'll buy one anyways! The snow has almost melted!

Long Time

Short post today. I don't really have an interest for blogging anymore...I guess you could say...
Sorry for the long time of not posting, and for the short post today.
Good Luck Liz, Valentine, Ben W, Griffin, and Colby at "callbacks" today!

Snow in MARCH???

Come on Mother Nature! It's March and I have a Snow Day? The way it's going now, it might still be snowing in April, and that would not be pretty!!!!
The excitement of a snow day wears off at about 9am...then I have nothing else to do but homework, and that is not fun. I guess I can think of Snow Days from now on as a big, long GLT where I am allowed to yahoo!chat with friends and watch movies.

Well, I hope Mother Nature understands my disliking for snow...maybe I should move to California!! :)

There's a Guy in My Pocket!!!

Wondering what the title means?

Well, yes, to tell you the truth, there is a guy in my pocket. I don't know what his name is, but he was built (well, put together) by me. And he came from inside my Kinder Chocolate Egg!!! What a wonderful surprise along with the splendid, yummy tasting milk chocolate! I tried to find the character of my little machine-monster-person, but I couldn't find a picture of him.

He has a green 'case' over his head, two claw-like legs, one arm that is like a torpedo and another arm that looks like a crushing device. Valentine says his name should be Oklahoma Octopus. So, I guess, that's his name.

So sorry I haven't posted in a long time...I'll try more now that I am back at school!!! :)

Sweet Chica Gazes

Again, I have changed the "look" and title of my blog. I don't really think I liked the other one, so this is a new one that I will hopefully keep for a long time. Sweet Chica Gazes is kinda Spanglish, because of the 'chica.' Of course, I thought a little about the name, but of course not too long because I came up with it in Algebra today.
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, but I will post more on that tomorrow...comment on my blog if you like it or if you don't.

Banana Bread

¡Hola chicas (and chicos)! This is going to be a short post. I don't really know what to write about. You can comment with suggestions.
The reason why this post it titled "Banana Bread" is because my mom is baking banana bread. I'm looking forward to eating it.
February 5th is a new holiday. It's called Valentine Eats Chocolate Day. It's because I gave her Toblerone and a big Kit Kat Bar and then she got Band Member of the Month, meaning she got a GIANT Symphony Chocolate Bar.
Anyways...Toodles!

SUPER BOWL

So today is the SUPER BOWL!!!!! I'm going to Valentine's house to watch it, but I'm getting a feeling that we aren't necessarily going to be watching TV... I don't really know anything about football, and I am not going to be very "team spirited" because the Pats aren't playing.

Go Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals!!!

Whiteness

So right now I am watching the Last Emperor. It is about, of course, the Last Emperor of China. It's pretty good and the weird thing is that I am watching it on video. Like a cassette...a little old shall we say? Anyways, it's a pretty good movie so far. Even though it is over 20 years old, it's worth watching!

It's a snow day! It's very white outside and I can barely see anything. I have heard it is possible for us to more than a foot of snow!!! I don't know, is it possible for us to have a delay tomorrow?

Photos

I am sick of typing. In fact, I think I will be done after this post. You ask why? I was in Boston Saturday night for my aunts 50th birthday celebration. Everybody stayed overnight at a hotel and we stayed up late... I came back home at around 2pm today. I unpacked and watch videos on youtube for about 30 minutes. Then, I started working on a project for LA. I haven't stopped until now. Yep, it's crazy. I am sick of it!
Anyways, I have been starting to like photographs. Like, looking on websites and typing in something on the search bar and looking at all different types of photos. I even made a bookmark with all of these cool photo-sharing-getting sites (if you know what I mean). It's pretty awesome. And by the way, CONGRATS Liz, Valentine, Colby, and Ellen on a fantastic job
at the play, even though I wasn't there, I heard it was GREAT!!!!

Here's a photo from every site I bookmarked!!!!

New Again

Sorry this picture is so random, but it is adorable! I couldn't get it to the bottom!
As you can see, I have changed my Template. The other one was a little weird and I didn't "get" it. I am so happy today is a day off. I have homework and I just want to relax. So sorry for the short post.

Toodles!

Cultural Food

Hello everyone.
Just in case you have not noticed, I have changed the official font for this blog. Lucida Grande got a little boring. I have changed it to Georgia. I like it much better. Anyways, yesterday after my gymnastics meet, I went out to lunch/dinner with Trendless Trendsetter. I had been there before, so my parents and I recommended it to her family. It is called Las Olas and it is amazingly yummy. As I was eating my chicken burrito and drinking my guava soda, I was thinking, wow, Spanish Speaking people/countries have really good food. Then I got on a roll...How in Paris (French Speaking) have more delicate, fancy food, more like bread and chocolate that fits well with a night out in the town, more romantic. Where Mexicans have more party food, like Iyeeeeeeeeeee. They have the more flavorful food. Italians have more pasta (Go Carbs!!!!) and meat. Japanese have more rice, and from what I have heard, Chinese and Japanese food doesn't taste the least bit similar in America than in Japan. If you have any Foriegn Food you like or if you want to comment on my food critiquees, go right ahead.

Your Now Hungry(ish) Friend,
Lucy
P.S. Check out Valentine's post, it's pretty cool.
P.P.S Where did everybody but Valentine and Liz go?? I miss these posts!!1

New Year...

Hey everyone.
Welcome to Footprints in the Sand 2009, New and Improved. Just Kidding!
Happy New Year, even though it's a little late.
Anyways, I have a Snow Day today!!!!!!
It's not very snowy, but I think it's a little icy.
So, my friends, enjoy the day off. And think about it, we are basically the only school in Maine that only has 1 snow day because we had December 12th as a conference day, and the other schools didn't. Hopefully the power won't go out this time!!!!

Blogging!!!

Good morning my fellow bloggers. I am sorry my blog has been without posts in a long time. Vacation has taken the best of me and I have basically been doing nothing. I am ordering an ipod touch today because I got money for Christmas and I want an ipod. I am sorry if this post is lame.

I miss all of you fellow bloggers that don't post.

Um...

Ah Ha!

I have been showed how to add pictures to my blog entries, thanks to Shaelen (I will now add you to my blog roll!). I am pretty much really excited.

My Grandma just came from Pennsylvania. She's pretty cool.

For God's Sakes, yesterday I ordered the wrong iPod. It's pretty frustrating.

I did pretty well on my tests. That's pretty fun, I guess.

Last but not least,

TODAY IS THE START OF VACATION!!!!

I am officially done with school for the year of 2008!

Continuing on, I have some horrible news.

I wouldn't really call this girl my friend, but I played on a soccer team with her 2 years ago and my friends were in her class 2 years ago. She's in the grade below me.

Well...

Her brother died. He was still in High School, too. And it's devastating. I don't know how she feels. I think I might send her a sympathy email or something like that. I don't know what to do. It's just so tragic and my heart breaks for her family.

Moving away from this horrible topic, I now present you with a picture.

It is my favorite picture of all times.

I am in love with it.

Love,

Lucy

Winter Wonderland

It's snowing.... but not just flurrying.
It's downpouring snow, shall we say. I can barely see outside. It is also windy, so the snow is moving in circles. It is absolutely gorgeous. I don't really know if we are going to have a snow day tomorrow because the snow started at around 8 this morning, so it should stop at midnight, which would give the plowers time to clear the snow. I don't really know if I want a snow day. If we had a snow day, then what's the point of going to school on Tuesday when we have the rest of the week off. I don't understand why we didn't just have the whole week off.
Anyways, the snow is falling out of the sky rather quickly and heavily. It also is frissimo outside (frissimo means "very cold" in Spanish).
Moving on, I am starting to decorate my Christmas tree today. My family acually has two. We have a big artificial tree in the dining room and a regular size real tree in the living room. It's cool. I can't wait to decorate... it should look amazing.

More from Living in a Winter Wonderland,
Lucy

I would love to see the ocean right now...

New

New and improved...

I have changed my Crazy Plaid Scarves to footprints in the sand.
I became bored with the idea of Crazy Plaid Scarves, so I brewed up a new blog title. I am pretty sure everything is going to stay the same, but I never know what ideas are going to pop up.

Leaving you with that...
Welcome to Footprints in the San.

Hope.Praying.CMP Guys.POWER

I'm so excited!!! I officially have power (Has it taken long enough??). I feel really bad because Valentine is staying in a motel that is less than half a mile away from her house because she doesn't have power but the hotel does. It really stinks.

I love CMP Guys. They work so hard, and they are awesome!!! They work 17 hour shifts with a 7 hour break in between. But, they do the job and they make loads of families happy.

When I found out I had power, I started yelling and jumping up and down. Living off of a generator that barely helps for 2 days is rough. I mean, come on, I had to use flashlights in the shower at night and sometimes during the day.

Anyways...

Feel free to post comments and I am auwfly sorry for those of you who are still without power (Valentine, so sad). I'll see you in the blog world sometime soon.

Power Generators

So sorry I have not entered a post in a long time. I won't be lazy anymore...

Description of the Weather Outside:
Ice sickles all over the place, power lines down, trees in the middle of the road, freezing!!!!

There's no school today and it's not because of the horrible, icy weather in New England.

It's because it's my birthday. Just kidding, but not about my birthday. Today is my birthday, December 12th. Moving on, today is a conference day for the teachers. To make a long story short, the teachers used to have parent-teacher conferences today but they don't anymore.

So, last night I went to Valentine's house and we watched Meet Dave and had ice cream and popcorn (but not together). We were supposed to go to the theater to see Four Christmases, but the weather was really icky... Anyways, Meet Dave was a pretty good movie. Not hilarious, but chuckles throughout the movie.

When I woke up this morning, I was expecting it to be sunny and warm, but to my surprise, it was pitch black and freezing cold (I also was sleeping in a tank top). I looked at my clock and I couldn't see anything. I wondered what was wrong with it.

Then I realized when the power goes out, my clock doesn't light up.

Doesn't that suck, it's 6:30 in the morning and you have to get out of bed to turn on a light in order to read your clock. Yep, that's what I did.

I went downstairs a couple minutes later. My birthday "vision" was to see the lights on, smell the cinnamon rolls baking, and see my presents on the kitchen table. Instead I saw four candles on the kitchen table and the fire in the living room going. If you haven't guessed it by now, the power was out.

I waited until about 7:15 to open presents... they were nice, but not really what I expected. But that's okay, as least I got some.

By this time, I was tired, cold, and hungry, and I was not so excited about my birthday.

Finally, my wonderful dad hooked up the generator which brought power to some of the house, but now I have internet!!!!!

So, thank God for Power Generators!!!!

Adios from your newly crowned 13 year old New England Girl who is half way sad because her birthday isn't want she expected.

Lucy Lovebug

P.S. I feel really bad for the other schools around my town because they have a snow day and it's not even January. :(
